WATCHING COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Week 15 2020

A weather-filled weekend. Welcome!

Welcome to a topsy-turvy, likely-weather-impacted weekend of games. Let’s get right into ’em!

Feel free to follow me on Twitter right here for rankings, news, betting picks, the works. And remember, if you’re team’s playing they go on the Big Screen, and all times are in God’s Time Zone (CST).

FRIDAY

Let’s start the weekend with a secret banger.  Nevada vs. San Jose State (9p, CBSSN) screams fun and frivolity. The…Wolfpack? I think that’s Nevada’s mascot? Anyway, they’ve looked solid and dangerous, and they’re facing new Mountain West power SJSU. The Spartans are one win away from an undefeated year. They will be motivated.

SATURDAY

MORNING

Big Screen: Oklahoma vs. West Virginia (11a, ABC) is really intriguing. The Sooners bled last week. Baylor made their offense look vulnerable. So did the Mountaineers, though. Looks like it’ll be cold and rainy in Morgantown. This is a great bounce-back opportunity for WVU.

Small Screen: Utah vs. Colorado (11a, FOX) is the story of an underperforming team (the Utes) against an overperforming squad (the Buffs). Can Colorado take advantage of a short season and weak conference to coast their way into a New Year’s Six bowl? Or will Utah wake up and spoil their fun?

Watch the Score: Georgia vs. Missouri (11a, SECN), Alabama vs. Arkansas (11a, ESPN), Western Michigan vs. Ball State (11a, ESPN+)

AFTERNOON

Big Screen: North Carolina vs. Miami (2:30p, ABC) is another secret banger between (probably) the third and fourth best ACC teams. The Tar Heels have been up-and-down all year, and now they face a real game Canes squad with only one loss: to Clemson.

Small Screen: Are you ready for angry, salty, gritty football? Wisconsin vs. Iowa (2:30p, FS1) likely are. Especially the Badgers. With the Big Ten revealing themselves for the Buckeye-money-grubbing folks they are, Wisconsin is likely beyond angry that their season’s gone the way it has. Iowa has coasted on workmanlike victories all year. Expect the Badgers to punch them in the mouth.

Watch the Score: Washington vs. Oregon (3p, FOX), Houston vs. Memphis (11a, ESPNU)

NIGHT

Big Screen: USC vs. UCLA (6:30p, ABC) is a fun rivalry in a normal year. This year, it gives the Bruins a chance to thwart a really shaky Trojan team’s Playoff dreams. UCLA’s been inconsistent, but they’ll be up for this one.

Small Screen: LSU vs. Florida (6p, ESPN) will be…less fun. The Tigahs have packed it in, self-imposing a bowl ban, essentially folding the remainder of the year. The Gators smell blood, I’m sure. Kyle Trask has a great chance here to make a Heisman statement.

Watch the Score: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech (7p, ACCN)

That’s it! Again, follow me on Twitter here, and happy watching!
